filtered water open to things falling into it, plus non-environmentall-friendly battery in lid:

GREAT taste but RETARDED design, why would they make a water filter which has an open spout, into which dust or food particles can drop into and go right into the filtered water. A simple extension of the top lid to cover the spout would be all it takes to fix!!! Way to go!
BTW the LED in the lid is stupid - it means there is a battery, probably lithium, inside the lid. So guess what - that means the lid, when disposed of, constitutes toxic waste. Great idea but NOT ENVIRONMENTAL whatsoever. Lithium is... more info

Looove Pur!:

Great value for this pitcher of Pur filter system. It does taste good. Pur vs. Brita. Both are good in my opinion. I just happen to like the cobalt blue color of this pitcher.

Pur 2 Stage Oval Pitcher - Better Than You've Heard, But Still Needs Some Work:

The PUR CR-6000C 2 Stage Oval Water Pitcher with LED Indicator has some very strong positives that make it a good choice. However, it also has some weaknesses that will hopefully be addressed in a re-design. As long as you know what the weaknesses are, you should be able to get more use of the benefits of this product than some people have reported.

My family has used a Pur pitcher for at least a decade (and a Brita before that) and lately I just got fed up with the Pur. The last 2 filters we bought are so slow to filter the water, sometimes it sits in the top for hours. Then when you forget to wait and try to pour, the lid pops off and water spills everywhere. A waste of time and money. You should try the Clear2O Premium Water Filtration Pitcher, it's perfect!
