Good gift for DIYer:
Bought this subscription as a gift for my fiance the year we bought our house. He has intermediate DIY skills and is always excited to receive Family Handyman in the mail. It's better than many home improvement magazines because it offers realistic projects and solutions--no million dollar homes or renovations that cost a yearly salary. He particularly likes that they show common problems and minor household fixes (like how to clean the dryer vents or how to protect your home against cold weather) as well... more info
Cover-to-Cover Read:
My husband has been getting this magazine for over 5 years. I still grab it from the mailbox and read it cover-to-cover. He then does the same thing. We never toss an issue. Many Ah-ha or "that's a good idea" articles. Very creative submitters. Has articles on building/remodeling, organization, repair, even car repair. I have given Family Handyman as gift subscriptions to all my family. Good, but after three issues...:
The magazine was ... good/ok. After the third issue, I started to regret subscribing to it. Too thin, not enough juicy content that made it useful. Why would I want to check out their web site on how to do some stuff when I subscribed to the magazine? After seeing the pictures of what I wanted to build, the bottom verbage was "Check out our web site on how to do this..." Junk. Sorry... Great product for both new and existing homeowners:
I have been getting this magazine from my local Lowes for the past 5 years, and I have never been disappointed with a single issue. From simple to more complex, their how-to sections are enough to make this magazine a must. However, they add that much more with new product reviews, smart user-submitted hints, and expert advice to keep ones interest over and over. I highly recommend this magazine, and think all homeowners should add it to their arsenal for fixing and beautifying their home! Similar Products:
